Funding Scheme

The GREENPORT Alliances project is funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, which is the European Union’s programme for education, training, youth, and sport. Erasmus+ supports projects and activities aimed at modernising and improving education systems, promoting lifelong learning, and fostering international cooperation in the field of education and training. 

The GREENPORT Alliances project aligns with several strategic objectives of the EU, particularly those related to sustainability, innovation, and skills development in the maritime sector. The strategic objectives of the EU that the project aligns with are: 

  • Green Deal and Climate Neutrality: The project contributes to the EU’s Green Deal objectives by promoting sustainable practices in the maritime industry, reducing emission, and fostering a circular economy approach. 
  • Smart and Sustainable Mobility: By focusing on sustainable and smart practices in port services, the project supports the EU’s goal of reducing transport emissions and promoting environmentally friendly transport solutions 
  • Skills Development and Education: The project aims to develop new curricula and training programmes for port service providers, aligning with the EU’s objectives of enhancing skills development, promoting lifelong learning, and improving the quality of education and training 
  • Innovation and Research: Through the development of new learning solutions and the integration of sustainable practices, the project contributes to fostering innovation in the maritime sector and supporting research activities related to sustainable transport. 

 

The GREENPORT Alliances project’s objectives and activities are in line with the EU’s broader goals of promoting sustainability, innovation, and skills development in the maritime industry, as outlined in various EU strategic frameworks and initiatives.
