From the classroom to the quay: turning knowledge into action
The real impact of the Portuguese Vocational Education and Training (VET) course came to life on 18 June 2026, when participants took part in a live operational training exercise at Porto de Aveiro🛳️
Following the VET course delivered on 12 and 17 June, participants from across the port community—including pilots, tugboat masters, vessel traffic operators, port coordination staff and maritime school trainees—put behavioural sustainability principles into practice in a real port environment🧑✈️⚓
By putting their learning into action, participants help to demonstrate how behavioural change can help ports build the skills needed for a greener, safer and more efficient future🌱
