Nel porto di Aveiro, in Portogallo, il programma pilota si è concentrato sulla sperimentazione dei nuovi contenuti formativi GREENPORT, consentendo al team di valutare l’efficacia della metodologia nella pratica per i diversi ruoli portuali.
Il programma di formazione ha combinato l’apprendimento in aula con esercitazioni al simulatore e un’esercitazione operativa dal vivo, offrendo ai partecipanti l’opportunità di mettere in pratica la teoria e rafforzare il legame tra sostenibilità e comportamento operativo.

How can ports reduce emissions without compromising safety or operational efficiency? 🌱
In Port of Aveiro, Portugal, the pilot programme focused on trialling the new GREENPORT training content, allowing the team to evaluate how the methodology performs in practice across different port roles.
The Training programme combined classroom learning with simulator-based exercises, along with a live operational exercise, giving participants the opportunity to put theory into practice and reinforce the link between sustainability and operational behaviour.

GREENPORT Alliances: People Power Driving Decarbonisation in the Port Sector🌱
GREENPORT Alliances is a project focused on making sustainability and green skills a reality for the maritime port services sector. The project aims to change how people plan, coordinate, and execute port calls, cutting emissions through real behaviour change.
By connecting academia, industry, and representative organisations, GREENPORT is developing training and education for both higher education and vocational education settings. The aim is to make low-carbon best practices not just teachable, but also workable and scalable☀️
Over the past 2.5 years, the European Maritime Pilots Association (EMPA) has contributed its operational expertise to GREENPORT Alliances, ensuring that the training aligns with industry best practices in maritime pilotage.
