🌍 Sustainability in Ports: GREENPORT Alliances at the World Symposium on Sustainability Leadership 🌱
MAR.TE. has applied to present at the World Symposium on Sustainability Leadership in Salamanca, Spain (June 5–6, 2025)! This global event is an excellent platform to showcase the GreenPort Alliances project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which focuses on driving sustainability in the port sector.
Our submission highlights initial findings and practical recommendations for stakeholders like academics, logistics companies, and maritime experts. Together, we’re shaping innovative, sustainable solutions to improve environmental, economic, and social performance in port services.

At the International Symposium on Maritime Law with Judicial Decisions, hosted by Piri Reis University, an insightful session on the Greenport Alliances Project was presented. 🌍⚓
The presentation highlighted that while the European Union’s Green Deal includes regulations for ships over 5000 tons, there are currently no sanctions for smaller vessels. The project aims to address this gap by developing an educational package focused on promoting behaviour change to achieve sustainability in port operations.
